Virginia Beach Home Loans: Help Me... My Blog Keeps Evaporating!

Help Me... My Blog Keeps Evaporating!

I constantly find myself thinking in blog format. I guess that as blogging has become a way of life for me and I often think in terms of "Blog". I get a lot of good blogging ideas that hit me at the most inopportune times. Sometimes I'll get a great idea for a blog but if I can't make it to a computer in time the idea fades and when I finally do get in front of a computer the idea is gone.

Some of my best blogging ideas come when I am not thinking about it. I'll just be drifting off in my thoughts and something very interesting will occur to me. I start to formulate the blog in my head and the way that it will be written and read. I begin to imagine responses that I will get from people and my answers to the responses.

Eventually if I do not make it to a computer the thought is gone. I was actually thinking about this this morning when I was in the shower. A great blog idea came to me and almost as quickly as the steam it evaporated.

Now since those thoughts this morning this is the first time that I am in front of a computer and this is what has come out to get the day started.

I have a small note book in my car or in my house so when an idea comes I jot down the gist of it.

Look at as an idea to help you hold on to those inspirations.  Though I'm not sure you want your phone in the shower with you.

Christopher, I know the feeling. I look at it as writing a book of my life. I really feel that these will live somewhere in cyberspace for many years to come. I have several rolling around in the vast space between my ears. Now if I can just find them. Kinkda like a bb rolling around in a box car!  8-)

Christopher--I know the feeling....I "write" many blogs in my head too! I think the really good ones will hit more than once and when I am at the computer I will usually do remember and get the post out. When in a really creative mood, I jot down as many ideas as hit me for review and writing later.

Christopher, I jot them down, or thumb them down, in a file on my Blackberry.  Otherwise, my brilliant ideas would evaporate.

Thinking in blog format..LOL!  I have a blog book where I actually write ideas down.  That seems to help so I can move to the next task at hand!!

It's a lot like trying to remember a dream, isn't it. Some people save their ideas by leaving messages to themselves on their phones.

Rosario - Yeah it is. I think I'm going to take Renee's advice and start carrying around a blog book with me.

Renee - This is another simple yet effective idea. This is why I love this forum. Sometimes the answers are obvious, but seem to elude us. It's great to ask for advice and get some great answers from professionals who struggle with the same issues. Thanks for the tip.

Patricia - I use a Simple Sanyo Katana... I am seriously considering however switching to a Smart Phone as I find myself needing this type capablility more and moer while not near a computer.

Teri - Your right about the really good ones hitting more than once. I have had a great idea which I've been able to retain, but usually while I am able to keep the idea it is not verbatim and does not come out as well as the firt time. I definitely like the idea of keeping a small notepad close by.

Michael - I know what you mean. On occasion I still come accross a small portion of material on the web from when I was employed with SMC Mortgage Company. I wasn't quite so web savvy then so the material was not as good or widespread, but it truly does stay on the web as long as their is a web and the servers stay up.

Cindy - I'll check it out. Thanks.

Jeff - Yeah I agree, this is the route that I am going to go.

Thanks for the advice everyone. After I wrote this post I actually started looking for a solution. I came accross this pen that is equipped with an internal thumb drive. From what I understand you can write down your thougths onto anything you want. You don't have to save your scribblings, but appaerntly instead you can just plug the phone into the USB port of your phone and download everything that you've written... Anyone ever heard of or tried this type of pen?
